Firefox reply to Chrome: V. 3.1

This is an interesting article - it looks like Firefox will make a faster browser than Chrome with its version 3.1

Bench tests across the web have shown Chrome to be the fastest browser out there with Firefox second.

And yet the article doesn't mention Opera which has tested faster than any other browser year after year.

 

Not any more though it's been surpassed by Firefox 3 and Chrome

 

Really? I find that surprising as I've always found Opera to be faster than FireFox. Admittedly I've no scientific tests other than me, myself and I browsing the web

I suspect Google's Chrome is faster because:
1. Each tab has a seperate process running
2. There are no plugins operating on the Chrome browser yet.

Now that google has gone this way, every other browser is going to have to start seperate processes for each tab. Will this degrade performance on other applications that you may have open?

 

Wow....I have never use Chrome,I'll try it.I'm fan of Firefox.

 

I think people forget opera, because of less publicity and not popular.
but seriosuly opera beats them all , when it comes to speed.

Firefox will never be faster when Chrome as long as you have add-ons installed, and Chrome is build for fast use.

Opera is old school because they didnt improve their compile code.

The design irritate me. I dont know why. Most of the addons i am using right now not supported in version 3.

But im still using its version 2.6 until now and happy with it. i will never update to version 3 again!

 

Well many of the addons are updating to v3 too and you can change the design of it. Do you know that v3 is more secure right? and faster when 2.6?

I really am not as concerned with a couple milliseconds. Chrome might be fine for the average user but for those of us that work online, you just cant beat the functionality of firefox.

 

Chrome may be will be taking advantage of multi-core processors...
