Hello all, Just curious if anyone out there has also seen this and knows what the deal is. On my sites I have placed the Firefox referral buttons. Over the past couple of weeks I have seen (in my adsense reports) X amount of clicks and 2 signups, but no conversions. Since there have been no conversions there have been no payouts. Exactly what is required to generate revenue from the Firefox referral buttons? People have clicked, downloaded the product and (I guess) used it. What is the conversion necessary for payment? Thanks and take it easy, Dave from TPCS
In order to get paid for a conversion, a person must download, install and run firefox from your referral button/link. they must not have had firefox previously installed, and they must be in one of the support countries (which is not published). In general, you will need 100-200 clicks to net 20-50 conversions. .... I've had my fair-share of FF conversions
Thanks for your reply...The Google link is pretty good. I read through some of your info...not bad, so you spend what, 20 hours a day on your computer Dave from TPCS
In addition to what Tearabite said ... In my experience its really hard to get any successful conversion I had made only 1 successful conversion till date
jackass, 1 conversion is not worth the time to place the code...how long have you been displaying the referral buttons?
..and dont think you can just slap a FF referral on any site and get conversions. your readers must have the potential to be interested in using Firefox, and you have to PUSH (endorse) it.. for a good example of how to endorse it, take a look at this page at Adsense Support (scroll down to see the FF example) ... i swear - the guy that invented that method is a friggen genius!
Yea...I am going to have to find a way to implement that endorsement strategy. I dont really push the Firefox referrals on my scripting web site due to the fact that 75% of those visitors already use Firefox (webmasters and coders already know about various browsers), but on the Florida beaches site I am expecting the visitors to largely be non-techie folks who probably are more interested in surfing waves than the internet so there is (hopefully) a decent chance of conversions there. I do need a better strategy though...Thanks for the tip and info Take it easy, Dave from TPCS
Haha I have a Firefox referral ad promoted in a very similar way - probably slightly better because I not only give a reason for my users to use Firefox, but I also make them fear of missing something by not doing it. So I'm a genius ? Thanks
