There are some tips to make FF consume less memory. This seems to work on some low RAM PC's that I worked on. http://www.kabatology.com/08/29/configure-firefox-to-consume-less-ram/
Have you set it as your default browser? There are always IE vs. FF threads. I have seen them everywhere, and FF is always about to beat IE. Seems like to me that FF has been "about to beat IE" for at least 6 months. Am I missing something, or are these threads pointless? I'd say forget them both and use Opera.
True.... lots of users still use the old and obsolete IE6 but I don't care anymore. Firefox and IE7 has been out for much time now.
I love Firefox and an extension that checks Yahoo Mail every minute for new e-mails...whenever I get new mail, I set it up so I hear the AOL "You've got mail" sound
Your speaking theoretically - but to be doing anymore than they already are wouldnt be feasible, considering their resources. The momentums for IE for some time ahead yet..
i love FF.. lots of addons and tools that i can use for my job... IE really sucks for me... most specially when it comes to design...
Someone needs to drug IE developers and at same time persuade them to move over to Firefox developement team.
Pretty obvious that FireFox is better I use it my self and prefer it but from time to time I will jump back on IE7
I love FF. It has a lot of useful extensions and add-ons, and is much faster and safer than IE. Open Source rules as always!
Let's be honest, half of the people on the internet use it for eBay and are middle-aged men, they aren't really going to download something they know nothing about. Every web designer, forum user etc. either use Firefox (1.6 and 2.0) or Opera but since they're more people that know nothing about Browsers they'll stick with the one they know and are famaliar with. Firefox 2.0 here tho.
There's always going to be a debate between Microsoft and the other companies. Beside's FF ain't that perfect out of the Box either! The way I see it, I go with opera where the community is about creating its own name rather just bashing its competitors
My Google analytics shows that 70% of my visitors are using IE and only 20% are using Firefox... the rest is Safari.
Your site's niche can mean a lot. Digitalpoint probably has a 30-60 IE:FF ratio, while microsoft.com probably has a 60-30 IE:FF ratio.
