Firefox downloads data packets?

I have been suffering from this for months, every time I start firefox it downloads like 12-15mb of data. I even disabled updates and such but this still happens every time I start firefox.

This was happening on v2 and now on v3 too.

    Anyone noticed this?

How come you know it downloads data? If you want to know the reason use any packet sniffer tools. I recommend wireshark. Before starting the browser start the wireshark and set it to capture mode. Start your browser and check the captured data.

I think your PC is infected by some malicious program. Update your AV and run a full scan.

I will monitor with that sniffer tool. I think my laptop is ok because I'm running kaspersky internet security with latest definitions and I also forgot to say that my friend has the same problem and we never exchanged any data.

What makes me angry is that I'm on a 512kbps connection and it takes time to download this data and while ff is doing that, my connection becomes completely unusable.

I will do that just right after I use that connection monitoring program pointed above.
