Is there a way to disable the middle mouse click in FireFox so that it doesn't automatically go to a webpage when you click the middle mouse button? That is so extremely annoying when I want to pull up the scroll bar by clicking the scrollbar button and when over a link it jumps to the webpage instead.
This should work: - In the address bar type about:config - At the top of the page there should be a box called Filter, in that type in middle - Change middlemouse.openNewWindow from true to false
Ok I changed it to false, closed the browser and tried again and it still does it. Am I the only person who thinks that that is the most annoying feature in the world? Especially on sites where there are a million images and links all over the page and you cannot help but click on a link when you hit the mouse scrollwheel.
Personally I love the wheel as using ctrl+wheel can enlarge or decrease the site size. Cant say clicking it and hitting a link has ever been a issue for me. As a page always has blank areas. In anycase if you want it to stop, go to Tools - Options - Advanced - General - Browsing and deselect the check box beside "Use Auto scrolling". Other then that I am not sure how to only disable it from following a link. found this might have what you need pagesperso-orange.fr/marc.boullet/ext/extensions-en.html
