Today Mozilla announced the launch of Firefox 8.0. The headline features this time around include adding Twitter as a search bar option, tab loading tweaks, and the default disabling of addons installed by third-parties. "Sometimes you download third-party software and are surprised to discover that an add-on has also installed itself in your browser without asking permission. At Mozilla, we think you should be in control, so we are disabling add-ons installed by third parties without your permission and letting you pick the ones you want to keep."
Thanks for this Thread, Do we have an auto form filler extension that works? Is the browser much faster than the previous version?
I just canned Firefox the other day. I was holding on to version 3.X forever and then I upgraded to 7.X last week. Nothing but problems starting with no Google Toolbar for that version. I can't imagine that they'll have a Google Toolbar out for this new version. Got worse from there. I used it in conjunction with Scrapebox as my default browser and when opening various results, it would put the browser in spinning limbo. I'd have to kill it via Task Manager. This happened a lot. Eventually I just loaded up the necessary Extensions in Chrome and now it's my default browser. I couldn't be happier. Sorry Firefox....our relationship was long and intimate, but in the end, you just lost your mojo.
Quality of FF is going down day by day. They start running after the version numbers than quality. Now it takes forever to clear cache. FF2x was the best. Hope if FF8 can do a little better. If they keep the same trend they will loose their market to Chrome.
