Hi all, Probably most of you allready heard that Firefox Group released their latest version of this popular browser - FireFox 3.0b official site: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html So, its time to upgrade? ok, lets try: FireFox -> Help -> Check for updates: Does it mean that I need to update it from their web site by downloading the FireFox distributive file?
Stable FF won't upgrade to a beta version. You'll need to download it yourself if you want to use the beta.
It is not a stable download yet and they only recommend downloading for betas, developers and such, for test purposes. But you can get it from their site.
It's a beta version. I wouldn't upgrade yet. Your add ons won't work (well most of them). Theres a few other issues too.
I guess you can only upgrade to a stable release.. Just wait for the final release and then try this.
Open firefox's channel-prefs.js file, find app.update.channel. It most likely reads release. You can change that value to either of these: release, beta, nightly, default. More here: Software Update - MozillaZine Knowledge Base http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update
