    Firefox 3... Dam.

I was using Firefox 2 and had all my history, bookmarks, etc saved.

Then came a message, "You want to update to Firefox 3" So i guessed why not.

I hope that it will be like previous updates and transfer everything over... but after the updates my bookmarks are gone :(

I have to find a way to restore them..

Close all of your ff instances. (use file ~ exit)

    click on start ~ run

    type firefox -safe-mode

tick on the option of resetting toolbar.

    ok.

Redownload FF2 from somewhere and your bookmarks should come back.

All my data was saved when I upgraded. You almost had to have uninstalled firefox2, and then installed firefox3 for that to happen. Good luck!

I don't use firefox that much so never bothered to upgrade it :p
Try using opera once and you won't even use firefox again...It even got online synchronization...you can keep a backup of your stuff online from where you can retrieve it whenever/wherever you want and yea, it's automated too(you just gotta enter the username and password once)

my bookmarks stayed...wonder what happened to yours.

Anyway they are probably still in a file somewhere on your computer, it's a matter of finding them and putting them into FF3.

Or do a system restore to a point yesterday to when FF2 was installed, get them back, save them somewhere and upgrade.

What I always do is backup my bookmarks before updating. Coz for me I consider my bookmarks GOLD :D...

Have you check the firefox program folder, coz maybe the new one is installed in a different folder?

Can't say I've had any problems with FF3. Well, only occasionally when I used the nightly releases while everyone else was on FF 2...
