According to StatCounter over the last few days, Firefox 3.5 is the most used browser version in the world; more used than any single version of IE.
I did an article earlier: http://www.commentaryweb.com/internet/firefox-3-5-more-popular-than-ie7/ Statcounter can not give accurate stats as they only monitor about 3 million sites. Once Google release some stats, then we will see...
Well me too using that,.., mozilla is by far the best. it also contains numerous bugs but on comparison with other , i feel mozilla suits best..!!
I think google chrome is alot faster and more efficient than firfox but I am usually ahead of the curve anyways dumped firfox months ago. weeee
I would imaging sites like DP get a lot of non-IE traffic. Webmasters are more likely to be linux and/or Firefox users. But to compare, here's one of the sites I own (notebookforums.com) that gets purely natural/organic traffic, between .5 and 1 mil uniques per month (Google Analytics). This is the month of November in 07, 08, and 09: Nov 07 54.72% IE 39.37% FF 3.09% Opera 1.92% Safari Nov 08 48.78% IE 42.26% FF 3.19% Opera 2.79% Chrome 2.32% Safari Nov 09 43.14% IE 41.47% FF 8.63% Chrome 3.38% Safari 2.83% Opera You can see IE on a steady decline and surprisingly FF going backwards in 09 while Chrome and Safari grow. I left out any browsers under 1%.
Can anybody tell me why Firefox is better then IE? And why is Chrome so bad, it seems to be faster then the other two.
I use a combination of browsers to be honest. Flock (based on FF) and Opera are main then Chrome, FF and Safari. Finally IE.
Firefox is safe, and it does not download spy- and adware to your computer without you noticing it. There are a lot more things on why FF is better than IE. Google is your friend! Chrome is not bad. FF is simply better. That's also what I do! I do a combination of 'em all.
See my link about IE below (12 years behind). Technically, IE is incompetent. Unable to use many of the current modern standards and practices, it trails behind in what MS has planned for IE9, too. Always a follower, never a leader. Chrome is still rough around the edges. It lacks some features of other browsers but, technically, it's bleeding edge. New features will come along. Personally, I've switched to the developer's edition of Chrome on Linux but use Firefox everywhere else.
I can't even think in using IE, i install FF everywhere i go if it's not already installed.. Great information!
Of course, FF would still be behind IE in total, but that is thanks to bundling of IE with windows and so, many people end up using IE by default. It would be interesting to see what is the rate at which IE is losing its market share! Regards, RightMan
