Hello, I wanted to get a few opinions on an older domain I've owned since '02 called Findnews.org. The site has been live since '02, is in Dmoz, and in Yahoo since late '02, early '03 A few notes: Dmoz since late 2002: http://dmoz.org/News/Directories/ Yahoo since mid 2003: http://dir.yahoo.com/News_and_Media/Newspapers/Web_Directories/ Findnews.org is sitting pretty good with backlinks (Yahoo showing 30,900 using linkdomain http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=linkdomain%3Afindnews.org&prssweb=Search&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-web-t&x=wrt Over 3400 links in Yahoo using -site: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=linkdomain%3Afindnews.org+-site%3Afindnews.org&sm=Yahoo%21+Search&fr=FP-tab-web-t&toggle=1&cop=&ei=UTF-8 The site has some good quality sites pointing to it, etc. and it has approximately 1,138,322 Articles (or RSS feeds) indexed. The site uses DotNetNuke (.ASP NET). I would've preferred Drupal or another open source php CMS, but it didn't go that way... Another point to mention is that the site has some good .edu links pointing to it (about 43 from what I can see here): http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=linkdomain%3Afindnews.org+site%3A.edu&prssweb=Search&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-web-t&x=wrt My original plans were to turn the site into a Topix.net type site. I would consider selling it since it has so much potential, the name is very easy to remember, and it it quite established. I guess I could even go the pre sell page route with the site, but I do not want to risk the site's position or equity in the SE's. Any ideas? Worth? Other interesting points to consider? Thanks
IMO, I think this is a good domain. Short, believable, could easily be a Digg.com type site (but with more news, categories, and usability). $15k, $25k, more, less?
Yeah, I agree. I think the potential for $30k+ considering that the domain has some strong SE anchors, solid PR6 (for over 2 years now), and all the .edu links, etc. Any other estimates? I thought this forum would help a little for this domain appraisal, but only the one comment so far Come on guys/girls. Share your thoughts Por Favor!
