Finding your link on another site

    Hi guys,

Quick question here is there an easy way to find where your link is appearing on certain sites? For example say I see a forum/social site sending me a lot of traffic is there an easy way to find exactly where my link is on that site??

The reason I ask is in most cases you can help push this traffic and receive more if you know exactly where your link is. Also if a bigger site links to you, it's nice to know where that link is so you can try and get some social traffic to that site which in turn gets you some traffic.

Any tips/advice would be great, thanks.

Use statcounter or other webstats to check for your links and those who access your links...

or if not you can use mybloglog (a social bookmarking site)..

    Hope this helps....

Subscribe to Google Analytics. It has a feature that shows referring sites that sends you traffic

You can use the Yahoo-powered backlink analyzer which lists down the top ten important links to you :)

Or simply use the link: operator in Yahoo main page.

Yep, Statcounter can track the visitor's origin as well as their IP address. It's a good tracking tool same as Google analytics.

I have google analytics on my account, it only gives the domain referring address though.

    For example, let's say I get dugg. It'll show 20,000 visitors from www.digg.com not 15,000 from digg.com and 5,000 from digg.com/upcoming.

I guess I just need to add another stat counter then and it should show me the referring addresses :).

if your site is on a cpanel account, then you can check high traffic sources using the AwStats under the stats category

I'd also reccomend AWstats, it's pretty good at showing you where your traffic comes from.
