Finding themed sites for reciprocal linking. What methods do you use for that? What queries do you use?
I just type the kw in the search engines and find out some sites which are providing backlinks. but reciprocal linking is not usefull now a days.
Email the webmaster of the other site for a link exchange or do a search for sites by using your keywords,check what sites link to the high ranking sites and try to exchange links with them.
There are many ways, but my preferred way of getting related sites is to check in some of the authority directories like DMOZ and BOTW. They "usually" only list quality websites so half of your work is already done for you
I tend to agree that quality link exchanges remain very valuable... For me, there is almost no difference in ranking power between a one way and two way links. For example Sun and Oracle have perhaps 1000 cross links on their sites, may be even 10 times that... BUT: poor quality link exchange is probably a waste of time To find partners, I also search KW in Google and inspect the results. Normally, a powerfull link will rank within the top 100 for that KW. It is interesting to note that 'ordinary' link pages almost never rank in top 100 for their <title>
