You need to start with building relationships by providing valuable content to followers/friends on the network. What are you selling? If it is information related, give some information away. No one goes on social networks looking to buy things, but if you provide a lot of information, that can lead to a sale. That is why social media is a good way to get leads. Here is one example of how to get sales from social media. Build up your network - increase the numbers, tweet/update daily with valuable information, interact with people, be involved in the conversation. Schedule a webinar - promote it for a few weeks prior. During the webinar, give a way a lot of information, and at the end, try to sell what you are selling.
I couldn't agree more Bweezy. Today people are more focused on social interaction through various social platforms. Old business models fail to accommodate the 'new wave'. That being building the business and not the relationships that the businesses were started with. It is definitely harder for the old 'cutthroat' model to still be successful. We have to build relationships first and the business will follow. Once you are engaged with several individuals on a 'relationship' level, you are on your way to gaining the most important characteristic in business society today.........trust. Keep it and you will have a ROI that will grow exponentially. Don't be fake. Be transparent. With everybody, everywhere. Just my two cents. Best, Ryan
Bweezy and Ryan both make great points. It's about adding value to relationships through interaction and engagement. This will engender trust with your target audience and mean that you will - through an organic process - generate leads. As Bweezy says providing information is one of the best ways to do this.
