finding relative increase?

    i need to find the relative increase for some numbers between two years. how do i do this?

    In part iii) I need to calculate the relative increase between the years 1995 and 2000. My answers in part i) and ii) were 1995: 1 018 000, 2000: 1 201 000, Total increase: 183 000

    All other factors remaining constant, this is what I think

    Relative increase = 1,83,000/ 10,18,000 * 100 ( Percentage terms).

    Doesn't your textbook give an example of such a sum ?

    The commas are nothing. I simply used them to separate the digits so that they would be easier to read.

    17.976 = 17.98 = 18 % approx.
