Ok this is a bit of a weird one - in the UK VAT registered customers are required by law to give access to their financial reports, my question is does anybody know where I can find these? it's nothing dodgy, i'm just checking somebody out before I agree to freelance for them!

    Many thanks

You are mistaken. Getting registered for VAT does not obligate a company to make their finances public. Not even their VAT records.

Thank goodness! The last thing companies need is interfering, nosy customers asking awkward questions when they make perfectly legal accounting adjustments or implement tax saving plans.

Small Ltd and Plc companies need to submit abbreviated accounts to Companies House. Maybe that's what you're looking for. There's a fee involved if you want the docs. Fortunately.
