How have you fared with this?

I find most of my web design/development clients on Craig's List, but I haven't done enough research with my ads to find out what it is that makes them call me.

Back in the days I had a few clients, now looks like all the jobs I look for are vanished from there.

its possible but could also be a huge waste of time. Try it and you will see.

CL is still pretty good, if you know what you are doing.

I average anywhere from 300-500 uv a day just from CL

I've used it a little in the past for traffic, not to any real avail... although there isn't much of a category for my current website that I'm building up.

Right now I use it mainly for finding web development clients, and it does ok, but not amazing.

I have always had luck with CL depending on what I am looking to attain. It really depends on your niche and how well you target the markets. I find the bigger markets are not as helpful as the mid to small sized markets as your ad stays up a lot longer in front of more peoples eyes. If you post in San Francisco or Los Angeles, your ad is only available on the main page for minutes (maybe a few hours at most)
