Hi, I have a tech blog that write only about Linux operating system, with lots of tips and information. It is a popular blog too, no less. However, I am left wondering how to try to make it more profitable by adding affiliate links. Are there any affiliate links that I could be serving, besides the obvious web hosting plans? High payouts would be great, but at this point in time, I just want some affiliate program that I can use. cj etc dont have anything showing up for linux, for example. Thanks.
Hmm, desktops, notebooks and servers have a very high price which will lead to very low conversion rates, don't you think?
Hey GuyFox, Perhaps you should look at this from a different perspective. If you have the demographics of your readers or a rough idea of what they are, try targeting that way. Just because they are reading about Linux info, does not mean they only want hosting etc. Maybe they are into iPods, maybe novelty T-shirts, maybe they need payday loans (hint-lol), maybe movie tickets to events or even homemade beer. Look outside the box... -=Chipmunk=-
Thinkgeek has an affiliate program? Wow. I will look into that - as for the readership they are from all over the world, and come looking for solutions via Google...
If someone needs something for their computer and you have it on your site then they will purchase it. So it doesn't really matter if it is a bag of crisps or a computer monitor, you can sell it. I must admit that there would be more of a chance that you will sell cheaper products more easily, but then the commissions are also likely to be less compared to the dearer products. Maybe you could look in affiliate program directories and then come back here once you have found a few affiliate programs that you are interested in so that you can find out if they are any good or not.
