Does anyone know of any good affiliate program directory or search engine that I could use to find good affiliate programs?

I am currently looking for a hip hop clothing affiliate program where I can sell hip hop clothing and earn through commissions. (sp?)

    Thanks in advance

I'm sure there are good directories out there, but I'd bet most people listing affiliate programs have some sort of vested interest in the ones they list (yea, the nature of the affiliate marketer). Here are how I find new programs:

    - Google for the most popular retail sites selling the item you want to promote. Visit each one and search their page / site: for "affiliate"

    - Join the major networks: CJ.com, Shareasale, Linkshare, Azoogle, etc. You can almost always find the product between those four.

    - After that I'll research the programs through forums like Abestweb.

Yeah Adsense should show hip hop clothing related ads other than that I would try some of the affiliate networks that pay per sale. There are a few good ones. If you are stuck on finding these networks then I have a lot listed in my affiliate programs directory or you could try searching google for other affiliate program directories if you want to.

If you don't want to use affiliate networks then you are bound to find some sort of hip hop type clothing affiliate program.

    CJ is my least favouriate.

If you are new to all this and you don't think you will get a sale within 6 months then don't bother signing up.

If you do this then you are wasting your time. You will put all your ads on your site from CJ and will then have to pull them down again as you would have found that your account as been cancelled due to inactivity.

If only they gave more time for you to be able to put your ads up, promote your site, and make some sales.

Google something like "hip hop clothing affiliate program".. or something to that effect.

Alternatively, checkout the larger affiliate networks such as CJ.com

I don't think 6 months is an outrageous time limit to set to make a sale. If you ignore CJ for that reason you are missing out on many profitable merchants.

You will miss out on many good merchants, but you will also not waste your time putting up banners and links and then having to pull them down again.

6 months is not enought time if you are just starting out and don't know much about affiliate marketing.

I would personally only join CJ if you new that you can produce sales.

I have been an affiliate with them for about 4 times now and have had my accounts cancelled time and time again due to inactivity.

I am not signing up any more untill I know I can produce at least about 20 sales a month.

Hopefully this will not be all that long as I have very big plans in the next few weeks and the comming months where I could be producing alot more sales. This will only work though depending on how good I can advertise my site and how cheaply I can purchase good quality advertising on sites like Adwords, Overture, etc.

But I have my statistics software nearly set up so that I can closely monitor the performance of alot of things.

20 sales a month? You only need 1... you've had 4 cancelled accounts-- 24 months without a sale? Wow, I think you may need to focus your traffic more on buyers instead of browsers. Good luck with it... rather than fiddling with statistics software, I'd suggest working on generating free traffic that is looking to purchase.

If you're serious about affiliate marketing, I'd suggest that you setup your own banner rotation software (such as phpAdsNew) and add the CJ banners to that. Join some other affiliate programmes at the same time, and if CJ ever disables your account then you can just remove their banners using the admin interface of your ad management software. Also, if you're using any sort of template system for your site then it should be a matter of just changing one or two files in order to pull down banners and links completely.

I make 95% of my sales through text links... describing products, sales, and coupons... pre-selling them. If all you're using are banners and graphic buttons, try experimenting with text links.

Sorry, I mean 20 sales every 6 months.

I prefer to get around 20 than just to receive one sale as they still cancel your account even if you have had sales, but have then had a quite period for 6 months your account will be cancelled.

I have received on sale, I then got paid for it and then didn't have another sale for 6 months and my account got cancelled.

Also, my accounts have mainly got cancelled when I was first starting out with affiliate marketing.

The last time I signed up to CJ was about just over 1 year ago.

I know how to get sales and I am currently getting many sales from the other networks using their datafeeds.

I will be joining CJ again soon when I have better stats in place and also more advanced and bitting scripts in some of my sites.

I just am now just doing the final testing on the scripts that I have written and hopefully I will be back in CJ soon and will never have a cancelled account again.

I know that my account has been cancelled before for inactivity meaning that I have had bad experience with them, but I will still continue to try them out as I definately know that they pay and this is where some of the quality merchants are and I need them on my site.

Banner advertising is something that I don't use.

My main way of advertising is text links and product images and things.

Banners are just worthless I find. You never hardly convert with them as far as I know.

john269 - this is sort of off-topic, but what is the site that keeps getting booter from CJ?

Perhaps we could all pitch in some suggestions in a different thread to help you fix it.

I've done some leg work for ya cause I was looking for a similar program too :)

There's the DrJays.com CJ program which may interest ya. Shitty commissions though... only 6% :(

Are, I don't think it will help that much. I normally sign up to CJ, which I have not done for over a year ago now. When I was signing up this was mainly the time where I was still doing alot of work on my sites and didn't have much time on working with the CJ network.

The thing why I mentioned about this is because at some points in my time I didn't have much time for any network and only CJ was the one that kept suspending my account.

I can get sales and soon I will be joining the CJ network again as I have big plans and I know that I will be able to produce sales this time as I have now had around a years experience with selling from most of the other networks on a daily basis.

I am not going to join them again until I have totally finished and updated my scripts though which should take about another week.

    Thanks for wanting to help.

I hope I succeed on this as much as I want everybody else on these forums to succeed.
