"Good" press release does not equal $30 but I am sure you can find someone to write it for you at that price. In fact, if you post it on a site like freelancewriting.com or craigslist you'll have tons of people jump at the offer.

    Good luck.

Everyone will see this differently. It all depends on what your goals are. If you just want a press release to slap on PRWeb then you should be all set with paying $30. Heck, if that's all you want then go ahead and pay $20. Most of the things I read on PR Web I don't consider to be press releases. I would call them long advertisements.

But if you want a press release that is to be used for what press releases were intended to be used for- then expect to shell out some cash. Your time is valuable, but so is the time of professional writers and publicists and that should always be considered.

I know you can get a "decent" press release for $50. It'll be ok, but it won't be the best you can get.

I would not write a press release for less than $75 and that's if it was one page and the customer provided most of the information necessary. (Most often this is not the case)

Don't get me wrong, just because you pay more it doesn't always mean you'll get the best. It all depends on the experience a person has. But I guarantee you someone with sufficient experience is not going to sit around writing press releases for $20.

If cash is your main concern then why don't you write it yourself? I have some resources available on my website if you are interested.

Press releases are the easiest piece of content to write.

    Interview yourself.

    Who
    What
    Why
    Where
    When

Answer all those questions and you'll have a great release. I suck at writing and I do my own releases most of the time. I just got back from a trade show and I'm gonna be carrying 7 new lines of products. Each will get a press release.

We write press releases for $85. I'm not sure I agree that they're "the easiest piece of content to write" - it's really important to make sure that a press release uses an angle which is genuinely newsworthy, and presents it in such a way to make the reader want to know more. That takes time, and that time is reflected in the price.
