Findind out a domain's ranking for specific keywords

I have many clients I'm working with, and I need to find out where these clients rank for specific keywords.

For example, if I'm hired to help improve rankings for the keyword "e-book compilation" - I'd like to know where my client currently ranks, in order to be able to understand his situation, as well as show him the improvement after my campaign is complete.

Is there any tool that can do this accurately (free is better, but I'll go for paid if there isn't anything else)?

    Thanks in advance!

If I was hiring someone to improve my ranking, I'd expect him to know this.

Magda, thats why he is asking. With all the help everyone provides here. I have been able to help many and I've only been doing seo for 6 months. Like Ford once said. Its not what you know, its who you know.

Try SEO elite or Keyword Elite. There are 30 day free trial version available, I think it would be of good help.

If I were doing SEO for people I'd use competition dominator to whip up really impressive reports based on market intelligence. You could even do this for free when meeting with someone to show them what you can do to analyze the market.

Try out Mike marketing tools at www.mikes-marketing-tools.com/ranking-reports/
You put in the website and the keyword and it will check the top six search engines and it's free.

You can also download a free copy of IBP at www.Axandra.com This is a great tool.

    Hi again,

Thanks for the wonderful recommendations - I found a couple I like.

The big question, though, is how do I find out a client's ranking, assuming he ranks considerably high?

For example, if I have a client ranking #552 for "dogs" on Google. Is there any way I can research his ranking, or is it impossible? I'd like to show a client that he went from #552 to #400 in an X amount of time, for example, and currently I can't find a way of doing that.

    Sincerely,

    Adi Friedman
