hi guys, thr's a great (&free) spy tool to dig out profitable keywords. you can use it to find what keywords other webmasters bid on. so let's say you know a website which makes a killing with adwords. you just go to this tool and reverse engineer his site to find out what keywords he is bidding on. you know what to do after tht. oh, the tool is at spyfu.com - anyone used it before. any good/bad experiences?
I'm signed up and its pretty messed up. I am searching for some of my competitors keywords and it is bringing up things that I know for a fact they are not bidding on.
I don't know about a tool, but you can get a good idea of what a competitor's keywords are if you review their META tags and landing pages, assuming they know what they are doing on their landing pages. Huligan
yeah i always use that trick too; go to the competitors page and view the source then rob their metatags! its probably the most effective method, and its free.
Yeah, spyfoo does not seem to have the best data. Maybe as they gather info they can become as good as wordtracker or hitwise.
spyfu is the only free tool we have for spying on competition. of course there are these drawbacks. the spyfu database is not real time and not comprehensive. but then again, use it wisely and you can get some cool keywords. works great for the Internet Marketing industry.
Spyfu is not comprehensive at all. I look at it occasionally and it is improving though. The best way generally besides to have good content etc is to analyze your competition. The only reputable tool I know that does this is Optilink though I read somewhere that SEo Elite does something similar now.
So very wrong. Check out Keywordspy.com and refresh your memory. BTW, I had enough saying that there is no such tool as spying for PPC. But people are stavered and doesn't want to understand that. It is impossible to have a tool that has access to only information that everybody can see. And trust me, Google will never reveal a lot of their secrets. Because this is how they make money. If you would have a very successful business in a certain market, would you reveals its secrets? Well maybe you would. That's why you're not working on Google's staff.
I totally agreed. There are lots of people saying you can spy on keywords. Do you think Google will release the info that kill their business? Impossible ... Ask yourself what's a profitable keyword that you can use forever? None! Conversion rates vary, competitors come in everyday, bids changes everyday, it's almost impossible to accurately track keywords. You can have a rough idea, but it won't bring you tons of money. Basic PPC skills are the most important element to really earn.
Ha! Thats what you think Meta tags don't mean crap for an adwords campaign. In fact, I stuff those meta tags with keywords I'm NOT bidding on to throw competitors off the track. I don't consider myself an expert, but I imagine anyone that has been doing Adwords for awhile does the same thing.
