You dont have to have a passion for the niche, give me a boring niche that pays $$$ any day over a topic that im passionate about but earn pennies from it. Id say do a bit of both, have a handful of niches that may not earn big but you genuinely enjoy working on them, these will keep you sane when you need a break from repetitive work but dont want to stop your work completely. Then have some niches that may challenge you more and are not quite what you love but that pay well, this way you get a balance. It doesn't matter how much you love a niche and how big your traffic is, if its a 2-3 cent click niche then even massive traffic wont make much of a difference. Content must be useful content, using filler content wont cut it.
It is a good idea to start a site based on a niche that interests you and this is considered as a better option because you won't loose interest halfway through and will carry forward the work. You are lucky if the chosen niche is high paying. Or else? All the hard work you had put will go waste and will earn only meager $$$. Hence if you have the tenacity to work harder even with an uncomfortable niche but high paying, then you can laugh all the way to bank
All you need is knowledge. Skills and talents are rather hype for SEO or success in Adsense. So-called experts and guru want to use those words... You would have to spend time in researching a lot. It's easy to find out what's already popular, but if you can find out "what's going to be popular" and take initiative in that niche, you are 2 steps ahead of everybody. well if there is a niche you are not much intrested but is generating revenue.you will start liking the niche
i dont know about passion and all....... when a person wants money and sees money coming in , in the thing that he is doing passion comes in automatically for that thing .................. as per the title of the thread the best niches that pay real good amount per click are medical and financial niches
