Find out where a site is hosted

I'm not sure if this is the right section, but I found this site from LifeHacker.com:

    http://www.whoishostingthis.com/

It looks up the IP and nameservers and tells you what company is hosting the website. Very useful for finding out if somebody is a reseller, or if you come across a fast website and want to host with the same company.

(I don't own this site, I'm not advertising, just thought it would be useful)

    Hi Ffolkes,

I use Domain Tools - You can either link to them via my Website http://MyHost.org (that offers some other
interesting links) and click on the 'WhoIs Search' link or you can go direct at http://whois.domaintools.com

They offer a lot of detail and choices and, if you use my link and only enter a word without the .TLD (i.e. myhost),
it will show all registered (active or not) domain names including .com .net .org .us .info etc., etc., as well as
a PoPuP image of those websites.

If you use my link, you'll also be able to do a reverse IP lookup as well as any country .TLDs in the World
    - such as .ws .cc .it etc., etc.

Let me know if this helps.

    Nick. . .

    P.s. I just love being called a peon... :)

just use who.is its the best site....of name.com

if you find ip adrres than click on it u will find last remote server located to apnic.net

    For example:You runned a whois on abc.com

and you found ip location:any country..
click on that ip link and again whois of that ip will be runned

and you will find last server(mostly dedicated)

I think domaintools.com is more advance , because if you register a domain , whois.is will show you a daomin is avaiilable, because it take time

But such thing never happens with domaintools.com
