Forgive my ignorance, but is there a way to find out what page you're on in Google for a specific search term? I Google exactly that and it doesn't seem to be coming up with anything useful.
Untill now, there is no such tool to find the exact place of your rankings in google. Once I had seen a tool over the net, but eventually that site was banned or stopped by the authorities. If it is there, I would also be eager to know
I have looked extensively for a program that does this. I have tried almost every website out there that claims to be able to do this, and they are all absolutely USELESS. I use them for one of my websites where I KNOW which page I rank on, and it still shows me nothing. I did have a fairly decent program that could do it, however it only searched the first 10-20 pages or so, which isn't entirely helpful in some circumstances. So just a caution, I'm sure people are going to come here and give you links they just Googled to useless websites they have never tried before..... Sometimes, I just go through those dozens of pages for a specific keyword or search result to find my website. However, this may not often work because your website/webpage may not even be indexed for that keyword or search term.
I think there is not such tool to find the exact position of the keyword, it is better to check manually.
There is an app for the iphone which does this called SEO ranking. Not always 100% accurate but pretty good. You can add as many sites/keywords as you like and it shows whether you have gone up or down for each term.
You can try http://whatpageofsearchamion.com/, if you on the top 10 pages it will tell you. You can even choose what server. I have used it once or twice and it worked quite well. FFMG
I use Google webmaster tools and Google analytics both to diagnose all my SEO problems. If you haven't setup a website profile yet, setup now. you can do a lot..
digitalpoint has a tool for this http://tools.digitalpoint.com/tracker.php one popular tool is seomoz ranktracker http://www.seomoz.org/rank-tracker another is semrush http://www.semrush.com/
I wouldn't rely on any of the tools around. I suggest you search through manually. With any luck you may only have to go to the first page!!
Why are you saying that? Why do you think they are unreliable? Manually checking is not reliable. FFMG
I'm just not sure how reliable the tools are. I check my websites manually almost every day and the results I get are consistent and have been for many months so that works fine for me.
The problem with doing it manually is that they can be location dependant and if your target market is not in the same country you won't see the same results. Ensure you log out of Google too, so that you don't get personalised results.
