Find And Pruchase A “Not For Sale” Web Site?

There must be hundreds of thousands of web site out there that have a proven history that are currently not being worked and thus not reaching there potential. While most of these are not for sale I think that they would be available with the right offer. But how do I find them? Most listing sites and forums seem to be loaded with junk. Any ideas/suggestions?

I am a very qualified buyer willing to pay a high multiple for an established web site that meets my requirements.

Just use the search engines.... it isn't hard to find quality sites, I mean if we're on the same page you're talking about any site you like but it's not for sale but you may want to try and buy it, like DP? ... just use the search engines...

thks for the reply. I have been trying to find an established quality site for months. There is so much junk out there. If there was an automated way to find sites that might be a good candidate for sale that would helpful. However your right, i could take the time and just use google.

    thks again.

What kind of website are you searching for? Forums? sites? blogs?

And most importantly, how big is your budget?

We will need the following variables (which i can change at will):
    google key word(s) =
    last page update <
    creation date > "x"
    pull contact info off page/whois

How can we determine if they are making any money?
    - presence of a shopping cart or adsense

will the sofeware be able to do this?
