So I'm the only one here who hasn't seen a drop in adsense earnings? I get about 90,000 impressions a month across many different niche websites.
No, you're definitely not. I have seen an increase but that in itself is irrelevant to this topic- IMO. Here's another article (Which if it holds true, is good news for all of us): http://business.smh.com.au/business/advertisers-go-online-and-keep-google-buoyant-20081017-536d.html
i'm worry about my adsense.... because after i check this http://finance.google.com/finance?chdnp=1&chdd=1&chds=1&chdv=1&chvs=maximized&chdeh=0&chdet=1224273600000&chddm=197801&q=NASDAQ:GOOG&ntsp=0 check this google stock in 1 year, you will find out
I'm seeing the same trend downwards this month is really bad, not sure if this trend continues where it will end up. Just hope for the best that this situation increases sooner than later.
lol. its the other way round. AUD is down against USD. Learn a bit about currency directions, that would help you. but yes, AUD is trashed now, I made XXXX that day trading forex AUD/JPY and AUD/USD pairs for 6 hours lol.
No, I am correct. I get paid $100 USD and after converting it have ~$145 AUD. edit: Oh, you mean "USD is way down compared to the AUD".
I thought I read somewhere recently that in times of recession, retailers in particular actually start advertising more.
you still getting it wrong. When you say you get $145 for $100 USD in october. in aug, u were getting $135 for $100, that means AUD has become weaker in october compared to aug, not USD. thats why i said in currency markets, currency direction is important to understand.
Financial institutions are cracking down on who they provide loans to. This means there will be less irresponsible new business owners spending money on advertising & the same amount of stingy business owners spending money on advertising. I think the deciding factor will be what industry your sites usually draw ads from. Consumer staples will probably not change, things people can do without will probably take a hit though.
http://www.google.com/search?q=convert+usd+to+aud "1 U.S. dollar = 1.44801622 Australian dollars" That means that $100 USD = $144.80 AUD, just as I estimated.
Nope, you're not alone. My eCPM is up as is traffic. Revenues up over 40% for the period of Jan 2008 thru Sept 2008 over the same period in 2007. Monthly gains throughout 2008, save the summer slowdown which is normal for me.
I'm thinking about trying out the forex. They have test accounts. Looks interesting and also risky. atm, I am only noticing my eCPM is down. Normally at around 1.00 its now around .80 for this month.
Its risky but you should first have decent knowledge before u start or you can burn a few dollars almost instantly.
True If businesses have working capital / liquidity shortage, the first spend to get hit is marketing or advertisement and in advertisement the first spend to get hit is cpc campaigns
Interesting, Seeing a few who are seeing an increase, I am amazed, I have seen steady decline in revenues, and now even hits are way off, so for those seeing increases, you must be in recession proof markets. I shifted my focus to recession proof businesses, but I didn't think about shifting my adsense focus until now. Simply put, I was getting most of my hits and traffic from those looking for mortgages, and we all know what happened to that market in U.S., collapsed due to subprime disaster, so whole industry is dead. One of Google's largest customers was CountryWide, the subprime king of mortgage fraud. Thousands of mortgage brokers have closed down, so it is time to change focus. Now I am promoting foreclosure help, new custom home private funding strategies, bankruptcy and credit issues, so I was curious, for those who saw an increase, what business categories are you seeing increases in? Good luck to all,
