Does anyone know much about trademarks?

If I buy a website address that contains part of someones business name do they have the right to force me to either sell or give that website address to them?

    Thanks in advance

It depends on the actual name. The short answer is, if your usage is similar, yes. Not only can they take the domain in a UDRP action, they can sue you for damages. Famous marks and coined terms have even broader protection. You cannot ride the goodwill of a mark established by someone else. That's infringement.
