Kier announce that vBulletin 3.7.0 Stable will be released in the coming week. are you ready to get your server up to date! More info
While I really look forward to this release, I am thinking I may wait till 3.7.1 or at least a month or so, just to make sure most of the kinks are worked out.
If you have a forum already, then seek donations for the upgrade... Just be sure you give them some extra perks, like a forum just for the "gold members" custom titles, larger avatars, bigger inboxes, etc, etc. That is how I got my copy of vB, in fact, the members pay hosting, for the domains, and for a few other addons as well! Q
I hope to upgrade to this when my theme works in it, hmmm this also reminds me my license expires soon :eek
I just upgraded to RC4 since i noticed this when i got home this afternooner. Who thinks there will be a RC5? I'm thinking next release is the final one.
I have been waiting for 3.7.0. I started having my skin edited so it matchs my website layout. However as my skin is being very small in width. I had to wait for 3.7.0 because of layout changes such as the profiles. Do you guys and gals think upgrading to 3.7.0 gold when it is first released would be a good idea for what I need doing?
finally ...been waiting for this to become stable to start my new forum up ...though i'll probably wait a few weeks after it comes out to get some hacks out
RC4 would have been the gold release had they not fixed that vulnerability... There are some hacks out for it already... vBulletin 3.7 Add-ons vBulletin 3.7 Template Modifications ...though, some may be buggy themselves.
hence the few weeks wait ...i don't like bugs (though i'll probably be buying it when it comes out to play around on a test site or something while all the tweaks go on)
You can have a test forum behind your main forum. So you could just down load it, play around, make sure your current addons work, then once it goes 3.7.1 you'll know which mods need to be diddled to make it all work live I am with you on the wait though... but that's because I want stability over any addons. I imagine with all of the new additions in this version there are bound to be a few bugs once it goes mainstream.
I know, I used to have 17 vb licenses...sold them all though, lol...thought I lost the forum urge but it keeps egging at me ... It's always fun messing with vb on the test forum
