But what's the threaded comments plugin?

No worries man, I'm not going to make you type the whole thing, I don't mind you linking. I'll check it out later tonight though when I get home.

And yes, I already have got the SEO pack plugin... but I haven't done anything to it yet.

Yep, made the switch two weeks ago and it's definitely better. I don't know what I was thinking defending Blogger all this time.

Just a pity I had to get my blog stolen to do it so I can't say my traffic has increased.
    But it definitely would have.

lol Well, I never really defended Blogger like that, I was just procrasinating for 3 months lol... but my stats shot up since I made the switch so I'm pretty happy for it!

But that sucks that your blog was stolen. Do you mind if I ask how it was?

How are you tracking stats? I wonder if there is just a difference in the stats tools themselves.

Nope, same tools - mainly Analytics, Mybloglog and now WP stats.

Though, if you go check it out, my comments have drastically increased because of it. My Alexa rating has gotten better, my RSS Feeds just hit it's highest point today, etc...

Two years, nearly two thousand posts, top 10 in almost every important keyword for that niche.
Shall I continue, or go get the knife and slit my wrists now :D:rolleyes:

And yeah, I back-up. I even backed up when I upgraded Wordpress. in the old days I would not have even cared about crap like that.

I use Wordpress but I heard rumors that Blogger ranks better in Google searches because they own the platform. I wonder if it's true.

    I doubt that.
Probably most people use wordpress on their own dot com so you may not have noticed when you do your searches.
Whilst Blogspot people don't do that as much

But either way, Wordpress is better than Blogger... it's just up to the individual to do all the hard work (including getting in the top searches).

The argument of Blogger vs. Wordpress is a weighted one that cannot be answered simply that one is better than the other. Certainly, Blogger is simpler and better for beginners, occasional users and those with no interest/experience in PHP programming. Wordpress is better for more experienced users, those with a little more programming experience and the need for something stronger.

Blogger does not require a local database and can be used on any hosting platform with FTP. Wordpress requires PHP and SQL database, which can be easy enough to find, but not always easy to make changes to unless you know what you are doing.

I use both, as I've mentioned in other places on this forum (sorry if I repeat myself). Congratulations on the move, as it sounds like you are really expanding your blog and needed the larger feature set and customization. Have you heard any general user feedback? Keep us up to date on how it works out for both your traffic and visitors.
