Congrats on getting your improved traffic. A similar thing happened to me in the middle of last month. On 12th Nov my traffic suddenly shot up on one of my best sites to 90-100% more of what it normally was. But it only lasted for exaclty 2 weeks then dropped down to what it was before. Weird. Got no idea why it went up or down cos I wasnt really doing anything with the site. It was good while it lasted . Hopefully yours will stay good .
May have been a shift in the algorithm resulting in your site temporarily going up in rankings for a term/terms. Also could have been another site driving traffic to you ( then it rolls off the front page and traffic drops etc ). Check referrers on those dates. Dean
Yes, I think it was an algorithm thing as all the extra traffic came from Google searches. Cant think of any other reason why as I wasnt even adding content or building links to the site at the time (or before). I thought I'd struck gold, but only for 2 weeks!
I've also started my first site in august . I've been working on it, and as same as you, I'm pretty good in google and adsense. Good luck to both of us!
