This is my first site so I am pretty happy that I am finally on page 1 of the Y! serps. The move came completely out of nowhere. The site is a little over 4 months old and for over 3 months it was being penalized because of meta tag duplication among other things. After i implemented dynamic titles and descriptions for each page both google and yahoo started to index more pages but the serps were still terrible. 3 weeks ago I submitted a map to SiteExplorer and for 3 weeks it showed no caching or crawling activity. I checked Siteexplorer this morning and it showed a big jump in indexed pages and also showed them all as crawled and cached. I am not saying the sitemap caused the move, but it did not hurt. At this point I was just happen to have more pages indexed and then I checked my stats. Before it was rare for me to see refers from Y!. Today Y! is providing comparable traffic to Google so I check the rankings and see that I am in the top 5 for my top 20 keyword phrases. At this time I am ranked well in MSN and Y!. Now i need to figure out google, but it seems the major factor with google is time. later, JS
Congrats, good job. I don't follow Yahoo SERPS closely but it seems to me that there was a Yahoo update today, some of my sites jumped up the SERPs out of nowhere today. Anyone else seeing this?
I have seen a couple of changes in the last few weeks for my main keyword. I was in position 30, then two weeks ago went to position 16, then yesterdqay went to position 3. I'm hoping that the next stop will be number 1!
