I was just checked my logs and saw DMOZ as a referrer and was happy to find that after 3 months my site is listed.
Yeah I know, but I think it was that 'happy birthday' thread that did it. I'm gonna have to up the prices in my 'go away' thread
That's sort of a nested joke, Roman - no offense intended at all. Given that Canada as a nation is less than 150 years old, we're pretty much all foreginers here, except for First Nations and Inuit people. I was born in the UK.
Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Canada is a country? I just thought its where we kept people who couldnt pronouce "Out and about" and said "eh?"
honestly, do any of you know how on earth you can get your site in there? i've waited for over six months... i'm just new with all of this and wondering if any of you know...!
You can't "get" your site in there, I'm afraid. Just about all you can do is to submit the URL to the correct category once. Or you can believe the ODP-detractors who suggest (often as a "joke") that you can bribe some editors to get a faster listing. I would strongly advise against that tactic, as such sites, if found out, get banned, along with the editor who took the bribe. Probably not what you wanted to hear, I know, but that is the way the ODP works.
thanks...! the funny thing is that one of our sites is listed in there (it took a few months to appear), but our other two were submitted afterwards (six or so months ago/when i started working here) and are still not listed. Guess i'll just have to wait it out and see what happens...
Yup, it is a highly random process. Some see that as a bad thing, others good. You mention that you have multiple sites? Are they multiple sites showing different aspects of the same business, by any chance?
