Finally got myself few Directory names, let me know how they look...

Hello,
After running 2 directories for a year or more, without the magic word "directory" in the domain url decided to get few directory domains for myself .

Let me know your thoughts about the same and the possible use i plan to put them into.

1. Directory O Rama : Use for making niche about various directory sites present. .ie directory of directory sort of directory.

2. AI Directory : Use for either American Idol Directory or for Artificial Intelligence Directory site with AI based sites and domains lists.

3. Directory Blend : Use for making my phpld templates site and providing custom directory with blending of website, blogs into the directory.


Any thoughts and ideas for the domains would be greatly appreciated.

Not really this domain has been online since 2004, and has a wayback history . But no one really developed it and was mostly parked for few years.

@british , brand name sounds pretty good, will need some sponsors for the same to get it going and make a site offering directory services and customizations..

So what about directoryorama.com ? << The guy feels left out

 

I will tell you one thing...your domains are a lot better than some of these other directory names I've been seeing lately.

I see a lot of directories that have domains which have nothing to do with directories. Like...random 4 letter domains, or the expired domain with PR trick. I don't have a problem with expired domains, but at least it should sound like a directory.

 

Yaa i was getting tired of sbclansite and h-log name (oh no folks i ain't selling them yet). And since i have been in directory business for long thought it was time for me to get some directory related domains (plus those 2 domains provided me with enough greens to get the new domain names ).

Was hoping to get directorynetwork.com but its already in use , than i could have started my own little directory network.

i'd say DirectoryBlend << for ur custom templates and its an awesome name ... gosh y i didn't think of it.

 

Do not be sad mate, will be providing common grounds for all template coders at not cost, so u will have opportunity to use the site as much i will .

But what shall i use aidirectory for ? As ameican idol directory or artifical directory ? which keyword to target?

I agree with the first poster that Dictionary Blend will probably workout the best.

That name would be perfect for a non-human edited directory.

Directory in the name is easier to reach the TOP 10 for Google results..

If your "talented" you dont have to use and will reach the top by doing simple
seo work on your directory and buying quality backlinks with High PR or you
can do bulk 25-50-75-100 sitewides on blogs or whatever, as this will propel
you to the Top of Googles Search Results faster "Seo link Directory" "Web Directory"
"web links directory" "submit url" "Add url" and others.

I have a few domains with the word directory myself but i fancy your blend and orama myself

Agree malcom, i myself was sitting at #3 and #5 for my 2 other directories which do not have "directory " in them for term "seo friendly directory" but got tired of the same and now aiming for something else, but directory in url helps with serps and hoping to rank on the first page for term "Directory" , that would be just great.

Only thing is the "orama" is a trademark now i wonder if directoryorama violates any trademarks, sheesh why do they trademark every single word on the planet.

@steveb how am i gonaa make a directory non-human editable ? Know any robots that can work for me?

 

I do not necessarily agree. Although I dislike meaningless 4 letter domains for directory names, I wouldn't just try to pick a domain that soulds like a directory. As long as the word is pronounceable & brandable, I would go after it instead of trying to squeeze "directory", "dir", "links" somewhere into a domain... There are such good names like skaffe.com, forplex.com, or yutter.com, which I like.

 

romow its all about personal preferences some people like tea, some like coffee, nothing wrong with either of those sort of people or the product either.

 

orama sound the best among those to me.

 

Yeah, of course. I should add that it's just my personal preference.. nothing like right or wrong.

 

I am not good with domains --but I might have seen the A1directory --somewhere
