I have a answer that why you don't get listed in dmoz .... and that's >>> you already applied for 4 times ... stop applying again and again it's not going to help you .... in real Dmoz is a kind of directory where you have to suggest your website once and then forget abt it :p .... by submitting it again and again you're increasing a trouble for yourself ..

you will not see any visible difference in traffic or ranking anytime soon. its good to be listed on dmoz but the benefit will come slowly. not only you are getting a backlink form a directory that is trusted by google, the dmoz directoy dump is used on many other directories including google itself. your backlinks will slowly increase and so will your ranking. well done and good luick.

btw, dont get into the comfort zone thinking that your job is done here. keep promoting your site and keep building backlinks as dmoz doesnt replace the rest of the world.

I just found out that dmoz has their own forum that specially discusses their directory, what to do, etc

    www.resource-zone.com

I went and they are basically saying what we are all saying. it is a volunteer directory so it takes time

I read a post of a guy waiting for 10 years complaining and the response from the moderator was "you have waited 10 years so you can wait another 10 years"....

So don t expect anything and a miracle can happen and you get listed.

I checked this directory and a LOT of very popular and high ranked site are not on...

I don t understand why they are so important considering they are not even up to date on the latest hottest websites.

It may help you in rankings and it may not. Dmoz can somewhat be a ranking factor as it is the only known directory which is picky when it comes to accepting directory submissions. If you're website has been accepted after they've reviewed it then it goes to show that your website is unique and has been optimised well. Next thing you should do is update your website more often and maintain it.

I'm just curious... Did they notify you via email that your site had been approved? Or did you simply check and notice that it was there?
