Some of you guys reviewed my website, www.learn-networking.com, a week or two back. It was riddled full of IE6 and Firefox errors, and needed a lot of improvement. I believe I fixed all the errors- test away! Here is a good article page to test: test
Layout : good, clean Color Combination : was ok. The colors used for buttons, general layout, text -- everything matches but I would have preferred a more vibrant color that was in some way attractive Contents : you are developing the site and it is harsh to expect more info ... I hope you will add more in the days to come Suggestions: a) Since the site is about learning networking concepts why don't you include some additional features like - Info on Networking Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, MCSE etc; : this is give a idea to people who would like to build a career about of Networking - Important facts about networking (may be in a scroller fashion) - In forums you can have a discussion about new trends in networking etc; However do remember these are just additional features and I am not asking you to deviate from the basic concept of the website.
Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately I haven't had much time with finals and redesign problems, so new content couldn't be created. Hopefully I'll get a lot of work done for Winter break. As for the forums, those are in the works. You'll notice the "go to forums >>" text at the top, although it doesn't actually link anywhere. Thanks!
nice, great ideea, there are lots of learning pages out there, but every one i found was at least 2 years old...
A interesting and useful website! The design seems to blend well in the different browsers now (at least the browsers I just tested). In Internet Explorer 7 the header background is wrong 1 pixel (see screenshot). I noticed the top links ("Learn-Networking.com > Design > An Introduction To Tcp Ip ") contain a little tricky error too: when you move over " > Design > " that's completely selected as a link, while it actually only should be "Design" I guess? Not a big error though. I don't know if you intended to have the "Go to the forums" link some higher than the site title, but maybe you should bring it on the same height as the main title link? For the header, further, a logo would be nice, but I do not think it is necessary in your case. I do have to congratulate you with the design as its whole: it is VERY good for your type of site. Especially because CCNA maintains the same color scheme (though with lighter colors). Just like said before, also a very nice ad placing! I didn't even see it were ads first lol. (Some kind of in-site banner). Congratz!
Checked it with FF and looks fine. Though I'm not a fan of this type of color scheme, you did your layout well. Best of luck!
Hello zac439. I don't know of another website that is so helpful in the computer networking area. Considered it bookmarked on my end. Good job! Cheers! Lhlalyam
