All your adgroups can point to same LP, however make sure its the same theme. So if all your adgroups is shoes like 'black shoes', 'mens shoes', 'bostonian mens shoes' then your LP should just have this content and not boots or running sneakers.

Hey veracious I have a few question.

Are those conversions actually sales? How can you track your sales with adwords, if your direct linking to an affiliate website?

And one more thing. You have to be promoting products that offer, at minimum, 50% commissions to make any profit with adwords, I'm assuming. So you can't promote any real life products because most affiliate programs only offer around 4-7% on real goods. Or am I wrong?

Yes each conversion is a sale. You can track the sales by providing the merchant google's tracking pixel which can be placed on 'Thank You' page or after the sale is made. So when someone thru your link ends there, the pixel fires and googles tracks the sale.

It all depends how your campaigns are designed for the most efficient ROI. Its not true that you need minimum 50% commissions to make profits with adwords, if you spend enough time with keyword research and continous ad-copy testing, you can bring your CPC bids way down.

How can you locate the tracking pixel?

I made some sales recently but I didn't do the tracking, therefore i didn't know where to optimize.

In your adwords account there is Conversion Tracking, and follow the steps where it'll give you a snippet. Pass this code snippet to your merchant this will help in tracking once a sale is made.
