Finally, after 3 months of amazon, I finally gave up and remove their ads. I guess you need lots and lots of traffic for that one sale.

Amazon sales really only work if you're able to identify a niche product that you can motivate your visitors to buy. It's a very tough sell, and the commissions don't amount to much any way. No real loss getting rid of their links.

There's no need to give up on any affiliate unless your site is so congested that you can't host more than one affiliate. For instance, on one site I have the Amazon search box, and that's basically it. It brings in about 100/quarter (chump change, I know) but that's for doing nothing but leaving the small box there in one corner. Not bad, I think, for almost no space and absolutely no work on my part.

Counts for about 20% of my Adsense revenue.
Needs targeting in the first place
And eventually if you target a few specific books or products to your niche, it will even drive traffic to your site

I finally reached the magic $100 on Amazon at the end of last month (last quarter). I find that you need to really tune the Amazon products to your content. But Amazon sells just about everything, so it's not that difficult to do!
