After spending 7 months creating the script, wouldn't it be a good idea to have a public working demo (no idea why you don't just post the link) with an attractive template (perhaps it is? I haven't seen the demo yet), especially at $400 a pop?

Presentation and ease of purchase is the larger part of making sales.

Fair point. We have the site being worked on, hopefully it'll be done in the next couple of days, just needed to have something up and going since it's been mostly 7 months of development with little side income so we could produce the system we have. In case anyone else wants to see the demo, it is at www.crazyvideosite.com/admin the username is finale, the password is demo. I've got one of our guys working on a nicer front end, the one that is currently up is something we had done a while ago, there are a couple other sites currently using the system, such as www.omg.cc (nsfw) that has a little nicer design and similar features. As part of the price, we incorporate a layout of your choice so that it can be fit with any layout.

The way it works is we put in some keymarkers into the template, and the generator for the CMS reads through and parses all of the data appropriately. So if the friends list was made up of links like: <div class="friend"><a href="URL" target="blank">NAME</a></div>, then our system reads it and generates the loop, replaces the URL and NAME tags with the proper code (it's done at compile time, so it is NOT done when the page loads, it gets hardcoded in for efficiency and speed), so everything is form-fit and parsed out :p I do agree with you that it should have a nice demo layout, so I'll make sure that gets done and put up soon, thanks for the comments. And if anyone has any further questions please feel free to ask and I'd be glad to answer them :)

    Projectshifter,

Methinks you are getting people confused cos u posted on the sites category where most people are looking for established or working websites to purchase.

Fair enough, I had considered this in the beginning, but I didn't know where else to really post it around here, perhaps you could suggest a better forum?

that's not the point. the point is ur demo site. NOT the support PHpbb. The post is from my suggestion.
There are many different media site currently on the market. I myself look for one but so far only clip-share and entertainmentscript is on my mind as it has better templates and many features available.

Seriously for your product, it is best if you can create a better demo site with more community functions such as users can view other's photo, PM, vote etc to name a few.

Just a suggestion, don't take it to your self.

If that is what you were trying to say then I totally misunderstood what you were saying so my apologies.

I didn't include any user functions in the demo site, although there are a few minor things for users, i.e. commenting (shows up differently than as a guest posts) and then Chosen Plugs were just added so people are able to submit links and plugs, and preapproved accounts or a set number of plugs / chosen plugs can be given to users. From my experiences, none of my clients have really ever wanted to do much with users, basically just commenting and occasionally using avatars. If there is a demand for it, I'd gladly add in more community based features, but to date I haven't seen a lot of demand for it, it would only take about a day or two to go through and add in some new user-oriented things. Also with the matter of templates, do you normally buy CMSs for the templates? Perhaps I'm marketing incorrectly, as I'm not trying to really reach out and mass-produce cheap little websites, everyone of our customers that I personally deal with is more interested in a highly optimized custom site, which is what has been created. The output isn't anything near what you would get from clip-share or another CMS along those lines, it's tailored to your options and actually hardcoded rather than a big mass of code in which 90% of it never gets used, just takes up space and slows down processing significantly. As to our main site, I'm working on getting that up as soon as I finish up the last couple of features I was given to put in tonight. Thanks for the feedback

It's not a SINGLE site I'm selling, unless you wanted to buy crazyvideosite.com, but it's a CMS that we developed that BUILDS sites, if you have a layout, or need one done we can do that too, but it only takes a day or so to put a brand new site together with all the options. So no, there isn't a singular site for sale, but I'm selling sites.
