    Hello everyone.

Using the information I found here and a few other places I was able to move from ~90 to #4 for my key words.

However I am having trouble moving beyond #4.

Do most stop when they reach the top 5?

I've evaluated my site as compared to the others that are above it and I can't see why they rate higher.

I have quite a few backlinks as well.

Are there other things I can check to see how I can improve?

If you haven't already join the co-op ad network. If you have joined it increase the weight of your link against the others as I usually find that little push helps me with my rankings.

Find out your AllInAnchor ranking and theirs. Then see how many IBLs you are missing.

Also, plug their link: command into Prog and then yours. See who beats who on higher PR links.

    Act accordingly...

You can start by giving us the site domain and the target keywords. Then we can better assist you in your goal. This 'feeling around in the dark' SEO will get you nowhere fast...

Sorry, the site is www dot dragonslist dot com and the keywords are kung fu

BlueUniverse, I am already in the coop network and it has helped quite a bit. How do I increase the weight of my link?

Tops30, I will check allinanchor right now, thanks for the advice.

Smyrl, make sure you entered the url correctly. It is dragonslist dot com. If you leave out the 's' you will go to a different site that is like you described

Have you used McDar's Keyword Analysis tool yet?

    http://www.mcdar.net/KeywordTool/keywordtool.asp

It's showing you as number 1 in Allinanchor, links, and pages. I'm not quite sure why you aren't listed number one in google to be honest.

    Let's check msn back links...

    Shaolin . com is 838
    Dragonslist.com is 11,468

    Hmm, very interesting.
Quite a large difference. How long have you been at #4?

Are those 3990 links mainly coming from your own 17400 pages?

If they are from a variety of IPs then you'll probably just have to wait.

Thanks for the info, the links are external.

So I should just wait? I've been at #4 for over a month now. How does it normally take?

I saw results so quickly with the other changes I made I suppose I assumed a month was too long to wait.

Movement within the top 10 results can take a while. We've looked at many of the possible scenarios and now it seems like a game of wait and see. Some terms have good competition in the top ranks, others do not.

Correct. From n/a to #20 isn't all that hard considering it's often )KW dependant of course) just a handful of results which are acyually SEO'ed.

But creeping up from 20 and especially top 5 is a painstaking slow process.
