Hello all, Re: Need your help about filing the Income Tax Returns for year 2008-09 (India only). ----------------------------------- I need to file my IT return for the year 2008-09 before July 31, 2009. My entire income for the said duration has come from online content writing (many US & UK blogs). All the payments have arrived through PP withdrawal in INR to my Indian savings account. Hence, my questions are: 1. Which Income Tax Return form should I use for the purpose? I think the latest budget mentioned a new and easy form (I don't recall the name). 2. As a writer, which columns are to be filled in that form, and what should be the profession mentioned? Is it the sub-heading "Other"? and which section/s of the form? Please guide me in detail on this part, if possible. 3. Is the income tax payment slab raised above INR 1,60,000, or is it still the INR 1,50,000 like the previous year? 4. How to file the tax-return online (using which Govt. website)? If the actual tax is paid online through e-transaction, do we still have to submit a copy offline? 5. I welcome any other details in this regards. Please friends, only those who have successfully done the above (filed an IT return for the year 2008-09) should guide me and others like me on these important issues. I need your guidance based on the actual implementation. Thank you very much for the guidance! P.S.: I know a Chartered Account can guide me better, but I live in a small town in India where the very few CAs have absolutely no idea about what a PP is, and how to file the IT return form wrt my online earnings!!! Hence I need your answers based on your actual experience. Thanks again.
filling all forms not worth the effort. Just take all your PAN, bank statements to your CA and he will guide on what forms to use. 1. First your CA calculates all expenses and deductions and arrive at final amount to pay income tax. 2. Pay e-tax online: https://onlineservices.tin.nsdl.com/etaxnew/tdsnontds.jsp 3. Take printout of that and you have to file the forms offline. This is what my CA did. dont forget that without PAN you cant pay income tax. Many CAs need not know what PP is. All they are concerned is the income.
