I just figured I'd mention it because it's free and it pretty much rocked my world when I tried it out. I used to use SmartFTP for all of my websites, but tonight I had to backup and restore a number of websites that were too large for cPanel to handle (needless to say many hours of uploading / downloading). I have never used an FTP program that was as fast as this one is for doing just that. It does lack a few of the feature from SmartFTP that I miss (like the file overwriting / skipping works differently, and I'm not too fond of it), and it doesn't look the prettiest in the world, but for the purpose of speed and ease of use, it's amazing. Google it if you want to give it a try (or if you're using anything else haha). I think the project is also on sourceforge if you wanna check there. Let me know if you've tried it (or if you use something you think is better)
Ardent FZ fan and wrote a blog entry on it a few weeks ago! Read here : www.agnivo.com/tech/filezilla-a-free-yet-reliable-ftp-client-41.html
wow wonder why it took so long for me to discover it haha. glad to hear others enjoy it as much as I do, hopefully it'll keep the project going.
i use to love it up to a few days ago try transferring a large amount of files with it or access a directory with allot of files in it and it just times out, Cuteftp is the best i have used so far if it does time out you can set rules to make it log back in, it also has rules for if a file exists you can choose what to do with it not to mention it has some awesome syncing features.
