Yes, that's just what I suggested above: custom-made plans for affiliates. Affiliates should be able to have a control panel in their accounts, to establish different aspects... such as maximum file size, maximum traffic allowed to their users etc. That would be awesome. FileSonic should really take this idea into consideration.

 

I agree with you completely. Filesonic has to reintroduce the captcha otherwise hardly anyone will buy premium accounts. People on the pay-per-sale plan aren't the only ones losing money, I'm sure filesonic is too. Who would anyone buy a premium account if they can just have files download automatically while they sleep?

Keep me posted with regard to what Hish says. Fingers crossed Filesonic will come to their senses and reintroduce the captcha. Even megaupload has one!

Hi guys. How can we copy files in ftp?

Because when I try to copy a file in Manage Files, new copy file's name is start with "COPY OF". How can we fix that without renaming file.

 

3 very visible big capital letters + 1 number is quite different from 2 twisted and incomprehensive 20 letter latin words CAPTCHAs that sites use. I wish we were talking about the one that Megaupload has.

What??? Yeah, this wouldn't vastly multiply the load probs we've been experiencing for the couple of weeks. I don't think we should be looking for new ways to crash the database. Let's be realistic folks, if that is what you're looking for in a host, you need to need to just go out and establish your own.

 

Remote uploads are pending 3 days already... can you fix it?

 

Why would this crash their database? I'm not getting something for nothing, I give my money for better speed. With that money they can improve their service (i.e. more servers or other). Doesn't sound so impossible or 'system crashing' to me. Of course, currently that's just a futuristic thought, considering all the problems, but it's always best to be the first in things like this before somebody else does it first.

For example, Hotfile also offers you to buy more Hotlink traffic if you want. Basically it's the same thing. You pay for traffic. Why not also be able to buy better speed for your account files if you want?

 

What use is this versus not having a captcha? jdownloader can guess this one without a problem, you need to use re-captcha to stop/make it more difficult for automated guessing via software...

 

Those of you having remote and FTP issues, please PM me exact details of the problems, including your user ids and examples of files you're trying to upload.

Yeah even fileserve has capatcha. It needs to come back, right now no one buys premium of me, and i understand them, just copy paste all my links, and sleep on it. It's not like anyone would pay 10$ to get something they can get without hassle when they are SLEEPING.

All i'm asking is the capatcha to come back, the wait time, i'm not to happy about the 10 minutes, but it doesn't really matter, all i want to stop is the automatic downloading without any user interaction.

Also megauploads capatcha is stupid, any half sophisticated program can figure that one out, which completely ruins the whole point of having the capatcha in the first place.

 

True. I'm aware of such problems and I don't oppose captchas when something like this is happening. Leeching files by using a download manager is quite a serious issue, even if I'm not on a PPS scheme. But we should have simpler catchas that solve this problem and they are still easy to use. I hate it when captchas are only used to annoy people and so a lot of them have less initiative to download. Not good. Solution to leeching + easy to input captchas should be considered. The one present before weren't so bad - as long as it's not the 2 x 20 letter words present in most sites. Bad to use.

Don't get me wrong, I think of this only as a mean to solving a serious problem. If there are no problems and FileSonic can do without them - that would be even better!

Is there any way to upgrade to premium account by using the earned money directly on the site ... or do I have to purchase it via paypal after I receive the payment?

 

From what I know FTP upload doesn't work for anyone, files are uploading but there are not visible in file manager.
