I absolutely agree to this. I don't mind when my fellow Filesonic users get 50 times more money from their PPS scheme than me on PPD - that's ok, but what you are proposing is not good for this site at all. FileSonic should strive to become better than Megaupload and not "go the other way" with worse and worse free user conditions every day - "so we can sell more".

Imagine that you post something that was really big and popular while using Filesonic on any forum. And then a guy in the next thread offered the same thing with Megaupload links. Where will the people go to download? If they had tried both, whom will they seek more next time when the next popular thing comes along? Megaupload or FileSonic? Your posting might end up being pointless if your file-host is ignored for a better one every time. Seen this a million times: people seeking Megaupload or Rapidshare links from posters if they haven't put some down, otherwise they don't download what's offered and seek their stuff elsewhere.

Yes, we could all agree and make a site that only offers 20 kb/s for free users - Yes, we could all agree and make a site that gives 5 hours between each free download - and we could also put 50 MB file limitation for free users - AND WE'D BE RICH WOULDN'T WE? -> But what the hell are we creating like this? The next Uploading.com? We are trying to get more money with less work by making the site worse. This will be recognized all over the internet. You can't become best this way. You need to gain respect from the downloading community. You can't be greedy and respected by others at the same time.

I'd never support a site that acts with total cruelty and disregard towards free users and downloaders, even if that scheme gave me 10 000$ per day. You can shovel your services up your ass along with the money, I say. I'd leave. I'm not that hungry.

Exactly. And the comparison with other sites brings forth another issue: users want to download big files... There's even a search option of "1GB links" on some forums. Now, I don't care if I don't earn as much as the pay per sale users, but I want to offer my users the possibility to download large files for free. You could just offer smaller pay rates for large files, but at least make large files downloading a possibility for free users. How can Hotfile offer free users the possibility to download files of 2GB? Seriously, even uploaded.to increased the download size to 500MB for free users.
Please reconsider the pay per download system somehow. 400MB is very little per file. At least 500MB. 1GB would be awesome... and 2GB for premium users.

Filesonic, check the discussion threads on Wrz forums: 90% of users complain about your site's services. You seem to be designing the site for pr0n uploaders - who are mostly very greedy. Wrz uploaders would rather earn less, but keep the community happy.

Normal upload not working, Remote Upload not working, FTP upload not working. So as I can upload files?

 

Why is everyone going nuts over us asking them to simply RESTORE the old sharingmatrix way for the free user that worked GREAT on the old site? I don't see how you can argue this would get filesonic banned from forums when it was working great before.

As i said, my sells have lowered drasticly, i don't know if it's due to issues in the logging system or the fact that free users basicly get the same as premium ones. I know for a fact what works and what doesn't cause i'm a downloader and a uploader, I never ever purcased an account on fileserve, megaupload, rapidshare, hotfile, simply because why would i have to? All i do is to use a downloader, queue the files, and 4 hours later i've downloaded the files that would take me 1 hour to download in premium. Why would i pay to get it 3 hours faster? I'm not in such a rush.

Please filesonic listen to your users who are on the pay per sale plan and restore the old sharingmatrix scheme for free users that worked just fine. Personally if i don't see an increase in sales within 2-3 weeks i'll move on to Oron cause they seem to have a great system for free users, 1 hour between each file, capache + 100kb/s limit, perfect in my eyes.

You can download free, but if you want a easy experience, you'll have to pay.

 

Dude, if you don't like the 400mb limit, why don't you just use winrar/hjsplit or whatever other tool there is to split your files into archives that your users can download?

For me it's great to have the 400mb limit as it generates a lot of sales. But i can't make my files bigger, to suit your idea of 1gb files being the limit, while you can easily solve your issue by splitting your archives. It's easy to see that the 400mb limit needs to stay, while you can just put in 30 seconds extra of work on each file and have your problem solved.

I want to point out yet again, i am a downloader and a uploader, hotfile and uploaded.to are way to kind on their free users, i have download over 100gb from them easily and i have never paid, it's stupid.

And seriously, if you don't care about making big money like you say, why don't you consider maybe moving over to another host if it's such a big problem? Why should all file hosts be the same as hotfile/upload.to/rapidshare/megaupload?

What i would like to see change from the current conditions is as follows:

1. Capache for free users, on every download <- THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT!!!!!!!! (without capache, no one needs to buy premium, just use a downloader program, queue up 1000 files and leave computer on for a week, and you'll have it all without ANY hassle, WHY BUY PREMIUM THEN?????)
2. Longer wait between downloads, the old system was great, first file 10 minutes, second file 30 minutes, third file 45 minutes, etc.

It worked great on sharingmatrix, it will work just as good on filesonic, and remember us who picked you because of this plan, we didn't expect this to change over night! Trust in your past!

 

Now, upload from browser works better-file upload quickly, but with 100% - error appears and the file is not added to the profile.
Now i have upload some files and noticed that this happens with files bigger than 100 MB. I have upload some files 12 - 55 MB and all the added correctly.
I think everything went to s96.

 

Remote upload seems to be upto its old tricks with never ending "Pending" status was working great for me in the week

Why is it that some FS users are continuing to receive regular payments for dl or sales and others (like myself)appear to be getting the shaft? Are only the premium members being looked after while free members are not? I haven't received any compensation in three weeks and my payment page is showing inaccurate numbers for payments made. All the while my uploads are driving traffic to FS resulting in premium sales and they can't be bothered to honor the contract we have. Perhaps FS should look into settling it's accounts before they continue farting around with download rates and wait times.

 

I'm not too sure what's happening. To be honest I feel FS is a downgrade compared to SM (it is right now anyway). I don't know how many downloads I'm getting and I haven't made a premium sale in 4 days despite my website traffic quadrupling. I also agree that captchas should be reintroduced. FTP is working great for me though so kudos for that Filesonic.

Just based on the comments made in this thread, I have not seen any affiliate - free or premium - who did not have their dispute settled once they took the time to present their case to FS. (Simply, posting "pay me now" or not taking the time to PM FS your account info, doesn't count)

Factor in the compensation made by FS the past two weeks and the claim they are intentionally shafting anyone is thin.

for now in my opinion it is better to select or use the pay per download scheme until filesonic fixes all the minor problem/bugs..instead of complaining about stats not updating or can't sell premium acct's...

in all fairness to the filesonic team...we been seeing the improvement day by day...patience guys...

ftp works, sent the files visible in the Manager, ok I like, but where are the files which I wrote a few posts above, on ICQ, pm ... where? ;/ (Download them are counted)

 

at least fix your web upload!!
