You can do couple of things from your part rather than depending on filesonic team alone (which usually takes time to implement)

    1. include a link to your site or forum thread where you originally post, you can additionally add a text file to rar archive saying, always download from this site/thread to get max quality stuffs, if its software or games, always download from this site/thread to get virus/trojan free original releases.

    2. password protect your files both on files & on site & password to be choose your site url or your forum username so that people will remember you.

    3. in description on filesonic download page give your site url/your forum username etc

These all steps will keep leechers away from your files :)

appreciate your suggestions dkp. but i have already uploaded large no of files without any password or such. moreover password protecting files will make it difficult for my users. even i dont like to download passworded files as its difficult to remember them after downloading. anyway i will keep this in mind

@OnTheTop, stop spamming this thread with useless posts

Damnit I can't remote from hotfile (and I use the right syntax and all). My files keep being successfully uploaded but they have a wrong size (224B for every files, every time). Is someone else here experiencing the same thing?

@hish, is it possible to show the last uploaded file first as default in file manager? i always have to sort the files acc to date after uploading to get the links. it will be much simpler if it was default. after all, we all want to get links for the latest uploaded file not the one that starts with a!!!

    @MaX

Don't worry i too face these kind of problems all day, its really hard to re upload all uploaded files with password protection all at once, best thing you can do is to focus on future uploads. Always rar the file, giving link & info in it, password protection is only optional & i don't recommend it unless you are very strict abort others leeching activity. if you give password choose same for all the files usually your site url or forum username which will not be a problem to users as the password is same for all, also its the thread starters name.

When you get some idle time between new posts, reupload existing files, reupload one by one in some other file sizes (so people will not notice much) & add these new links along with old links so that it will not affect those people who have already started downloading from old files.

    Hi,

HF made it so complicated for people to remote upload from them.. There is a special way.. Here is a post that was posted by an affiliate a while ago:

"Remote upload from Hotfile To SharingMatrix

Go to your Hotfile account and check if you DO have any Hotlink traffic left under "stats". If you do, then choose the files you want to remote upload in your 'File Manager' and click "Hotlink ON". Copy links of those files to Sharing Matrix's Remote Upload section. ERASE the ".html" extensions from the links. Remote Upload. Files will be queued, but they should be transferred to your account. It worked for me.

After this, go back to Hotfile and switch Hotlink off from your files (otherwise you don't get hits from them).
YES, free Hotfile users don't have much or any hotlink traffic.

    If you try a not-hotlinked file you'll get a "html_page" error. "

lol - the 'I can't be bothered so I'l just steal yours' cloners always seem to bleat the most when this stuff gets discussed - sad. Guess what fella - this is a discussion that needs to be had no matter if you like it or not.

Look - what's the problem ? Those who bring new content to the party get paid more for their efforts - those who just clone it still get paid, but less (because they put less effort in) - how is that not fair ?

This is how I see it ...

The cloners get to carry on as before - earning on the effort of others - so they are happy.

The 'new content' uploaders get rewarded by continuing to earn from their efforts even after their uploaded content is cloned and re-posted a hundred times - so they are happy (and motivated).

Filesonic get the best of both worlds - so they are happy.

Everyone stops shouting at everyone else and chills out - so everyone's happy !!!

If someone can tell me why the above isn't a good thing, well I'd like to hear that reasoning.

    Hello Hish,
Thanks for the tips but this is a bit too long. :/
I guess I'll stick with downloading my files from Hotfile reupload them fastly to Megaupload (thank MU's God I upload up to 100 MBps to MU - it takes me 3-10 seconds to upload 700MB files lives movies to it) then remote them Filesonic.
