As mentioned previously, our RU is meant for HTTP links. For @ftp, please use our FTP module. You can use FXP if you want to avoid downloading locally.

We will add @ftp to RU at some point in the future.

 

I hope cause now I cannot remote upload from my ftp server...

Now you are the only hosting site that doesnt allow this... its weird.

Hi All

I registered for a premium account with Filesonic 10 days ago now and have not been able to download files, I still get told I need to sign up for a premium account yet I can log into the filesonic webpage.

I have written 3 emails to filesonic support using premium@ and support@ but get no reply. I lodged a complaint with Paypal yesterday but the seller, Filesonic, don't reply.

I found this forum in the hope that someone can tell me what is so good about Filesonic and help me out as for the moment Filesonic have taken my money and run.

So far Filesonic is the worst, most unhelpfull file sharing service I have dealt with.

As a forum mod and admin myself (at forums with much more traffic than Akiba) I can confirm lazard's observation, this is not a problem for FileSonic to "fix". There were certainly other means available to the staff at Akiba to curb the dupe problem, so if you want FileSonic to be approved there, I would suggest you round up a group of contributors at the forum who post using FSn and make your case together to the staff. Such a request from forum members will have more impact than any letter you would like FSn to write.

A few days ago I was able to use the filesonic free downloads (worked randomly between all the messages that I needed to cancel downloads that I never had), but for the past few days I just get:

What has changed? I assume the earlier random messages were due to other people downloading files via the IWF proxy, but now you appear to be blocking us completely!

I don't understand why you have a free option if it can never be used anyway! If it is true that a premium account will work even though via IWF due to some workaround that you have implemented, why would you not do the same for the free option?
