Yep, that is one of the oft unspoken side benefits to FileSonic having to spend so much time on de-bugging. I've noticed the past couple of months it generally takes them 3-4 days longer than most other hosts to delete a file due to a DMCA complaint.

Can you please send me that link. Like I mentioned, I see files deleted Thursday night, but not in the last 24 hours for sure!

Edit: banjowood just clarified that he posted the files 24 hours ago, not uploaded them... as his message stated. So this is part of the batch that was affected on Thursday night.

We found the issue with deleted files. On Thursday night, 3 servers had more files deleted than there should have been, for some reason. Less than 5% of files were affected (and this includes free users' files older than 30 days, etc, so the true impact is even smaller).

We've put measures in place so that this doesn't happen again. We will also work on trying to recover as many files as we can, but this can be a lengthy process. If there are files that you need immediately, I recommend re-uploading them. Our link checker (http://www.filesonic.com/link-checker) might help you identify files you need to look at.

We're really sorry for this inconvenience and we will do our best to restore as many files as possible. If there's anything we can do in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Well, i have same problem. All my files are still visible in FileSonic Manager, but any of them cannot be downloaded.

    This message always appears:
This is one from the thousand files:
    http://www.filesonic.com/file/16459181/Database12.rar
    Code (markup):
Btw, i'm premium user on FS.

Edit: I've tested it now like free user and it works. So that's maybe some problem with premium accounts?

Edit2: Seems to be some problem in browser, maybe cookies or someting else, because in download manager it's working fine.

Seems to be some problem in browser, maybe cookies or someting else, because in download manager it's working for me too. Fortunately :)

Edit: But that's strange, i'm surely logged in, because i'm browsing my files in FS manager, but for download thru browser, i'm not logged in :)

Thanks for the quick response. DF had a similar problem last Sunday-Monday but they are still clinging to the "maintenance" excuse. It sucks that files were lost, but your straightforwardness is appreciated.

i just want to ask filesonic staff regarding the rules on account sharing.

there should be a case to case on treating account sharing between premium user as affiliates and premium user as downloader only. i think the sharing should be implemented on those premium accounts that is solely for downloading purposes only.

    may i quote
"We have noticed premium accounts that are being shared and used by multiple people from multiple locations. This is not permitted, and all such accounts will be blocked. If you have shared your account with others, you must stop immediately to avoid losing your access.

--"you have shared your account with others" it means you willingly shared your account to others with consent. if your account was hacked and posted to VIP sections of hundreds of forums do you think this is sharing. your not the one who willingy posted this account to other and against the will of the person. the person was already a victim and you killed him twice by blocking his account given that you know that his account was hacked based on the logs. you know the IP's of the legit owner then you will now that you are talking to the right owner.

again, if your an affiliate of filesonic and earning money. are you in the correct mind to share your account which is earning money.i dont even give or share my account with my wife bec i know that it might be blocked by the system.

i want the concensus of all the affeliates here bec we dont know maybe now i can access my account and tomorrow it will be blocked. what filesonic needs is more and more affiliates and not blocked affiliates. you already lost thousands of downloaders you need more people to promote your service.

the point is affiliate with premium account should not be classified as downloaders that is sharing their account.#1 rule for affiliate is to safeguard your account bec you invest time and effort in promoting the site

FileSonic Team, have you ever considered to increase maximum filesize to be downloaded by a Free User? 1024MB should be fine.

We do treat these instances on a case-by-case basis, unless its blatant. If an affiliate has his account stolen and mentions it to us (this happened yesterday with one affiliate who had his account hacked), we will take the necessary measures to restore their access.

We're only enforcing rules that every intelligent membership-based site enforces. The cases of abuse we've seen and blocked so far have been blatant. If you're account is blocked unrightfully, contact us and we can usually work something out. As an affiliate, it's not too difficult to prove that a stolen account is legitimately yours. But I'm not going to tell affiliates that they are free to share their accounts just because they are affiliates. There is a difference between accidental sharing and blatant abuse.
