Thx FS for suggesting Jdownloader on the news page. If it's possible I would also recommend to also add only download 1 file at a time. Unless it has changed last time a tried to download multiple files at the same time with Jdownloader I was only able to download 1 file and got errors with the rest.

 

Is it possible to have the number of downloads to show whether you are PPD or PPS? I really would like to see the number of downloads my files get per day which currently I cannot.

 

While seeing the number of downloads when on PPS is a useful tool, I can see why FileSonic doesn't provide this data.

1. The addition of the download counter to the file manager is a more valuable tool and has made seeing the downloads in the statistics section a much less important feature.
2. Tracking downloads for PPS affiliates would require resources and bandwidth that are still in short supply throughout the network - look at the troubles with RU and FTP today. Remember the current downloader in the statistics section not only tabulates a total but tracks every download which is credited to your earnings. These are computations currently not needed for PPS affiliates.
3. Most importantly, adding this date would create a good deal of confusion. I'm sure this is not the case with you, S345, but look at all the PPD affiliates who post wondering why they are not being paid for sales when they can see the stat. How many PPS affiliates would start posting because they were not being paid for downloads?

 

I just finished downloading 4 files in parallel, each using multiple connections, with JDownloader. Make sure you're running the latest version and update your plugins.

 

Indeed. And related to #2, we might soon have to disable showing sales for affiliates on PPD, because it's just sucking up computing power we could use to make stats more live and responsive, and also less confusing (#3).

 

It might be more practical to move from live stats to "updated" stats rather than not showing sales to PPD affiliates. Just based on my experience with friends and referrals, it is a good motivator to move from PPD to PPS which benefits FileSonic as a whole as much as it does them. By "updated" stats I mean stats that are updated a few times a day, not minute by minute. I realize some folk really like the "live" feature but count me as one who would rather see those resources put to better use. I don't see where a total daily or a total every 6hrs is less useful than live totals unless one wishes to "monitor the veracity" of FileSonic's stats. Even then, it is a false sense of security. FSn could just as easily skim stats in real time as they could with periodic updates. You have to simply trust FSn to do the right thing either way.

 

filesonic support if you stop showing the sales stats on PPD plan,would they be shown in the manager?For me it would suck to don't have a sales counter.it may not be live as banjowwod suggested but it is useful as to know when it is time to move on PPS plan

 

I get the same error as a lot of people when i try to download now. it says "You can not access this page directly. Please use the website to start your download or contact us in case of problem." It happens from links on multiple sites and its been happening for a couple of days now. my premium status is not supposed to stop until the end of the month. please help me fix this problem.

 

By disabling sales statistics if someone is choosing PPD that will just make it more difficult for new affiliates to know which one is better for them. Some people are better off with PPD and some PPS. Yeah I know that the filemanager keeps statistics but you can't see how many download you get per day which helps determine which plan is best for each person. and if you have a lot of files uploaded it's too much of a hassle to have to click on each page just to see whats downloaded. Also for custom folders the sorting does not work very well. I don't see how it could be using too many resources. With my Oron account I can see everything whether PPS or PPD as well as the total downloads for each file in the filemanager so it shouldn't be that hard to do. Also if people get confused that is their problem. They should know that if they click PPD or PPS then that is what they are going to get paid for. To me by disabling PPS for people that are on PPD or vice versa (which it already is) that does not give them a chance to make the best decision for them but will just let FS make more money since the affiliate may be missing out on sales they don't know about.

 

The only thing that works consistently on this ridiculous problem is Jdownloader or by downloading from your web browser instead of using a download manager.

Sharing Premium Accounts is Not Permitted

We have noticed premium accounts that are being shared and used by multiple people from multiple locations. This is not permitted, and all such accounts will be blocked. If you have shared your account with others, you must stop immediately to avoid losing your access.

I am using my accout on two pc at two different locations. One at home and one at my office. Is this ok?
I dont download much...i just need the second location for better upload speed!

Personally I wouldn't bother if the real-time stats are replaced by an update of the stats every hour (or even less often). I don't have to know that between 9h30' and 9h31' I got 2 or 3 downloads. If that would decrease the server load and increase the speed elsewhere, I would say (from a personal point of view): go for it.

 

Yes Downloads stats this week is very slow.
DL stats not count in real time.
