Can someone explain what "502 Bad Gateway" means when you try to download a file? Do these files need to be reuploaded or is it a server issue? This seems to happen a lot and especially on weekends as it has for the past 3 days. Even when the file shows it completed the upload when you go to download it you get this error. Can someone from FS please elaborate? Thanks.

So I don't have to reupload the files then? Servers are very reliable so what's with all these server issues? I wonder if FS is piggybacking off of someone else's servers and equipment. I've never seen so many problems before. It would be great to have some consistency for a change. I haven't been able to upload for three days now. And downloaders are complaining about "Bad Gateway" error. The only time and place I've seen this error is on FS. Losing lots of money. Sux.

 

stats working fine for me but seems like a bunch of servers are dead. s76 is for sure, i just keep reporting bugs

 

better check first your file manager if the file is still there...but most of the time its a server error...you can check it your self whether it is s1,s2,s104 etc...and also always ask your down loader which file is is dead...

piggybacking..i don't think so..this will be very very bad for them if they get caught

They added (5) servers Friday night, so I doubt capacity is the issue. It has to be coding and/or software. FS IT and Support were noticeable by there almost complete absence from the board today. They were banking on the added servers being the solution, so I'm guessing they may be stumped, at least temporarily. We ran into the same issues last weekend as this weekend, but last Monday brought fixes and updates which were unfortunately lacking today.

 

The files still show in the file manager. In fact I uploaded some a few times and they are all there and complete supposedly and show the same bad gateway error. So I don't think trying to reup will do any good. Works for me since I've had about enough of doing that. I didn't mean illegal piggybacking or anything like that. It just seems strange for very reliable servers to be going down so much especially when brand new. How do you know when and which servers are down and how can you check on them such as the s1, s2, s104, etc.? You would think with all these problems every weekend like the site basically becomes unusable there would be someone there in the wheelhouse. I'm fairly new to this site and haven't faced these problems before. Thanks a lot for your response and info.

 

you can check because when it gives you a bad gateway page, in the address bar it will say something like "http://s76.filesonic.com/download/cQTwrLofhdz5zlCBYGkg"

and that tells you that s76 is down, and i've already reported the bug hours ago but still no fix.

FTP works 100%
RU 100%
Web Upload 100%

but no sale today :-( (Stats frozen?^^)

 

Yay! It now looks like my membership has come to an end with no sign of anything working! Go FS.

Come on guys - most of my month has been full of error messages. The least you can do is extend my membership to compensate.

I also note that from a non-members perspective, nothing looks out of place. If that was my first visit everything would look great and I'd be tempted to join, not knowing what issues lurk beneath!
