one question, how can I set a files premium only. Only premium user to download them....

 

Hi Hish,
I got a private message in a forum from one of my downloader, and he said that lots of my rar files are corrupted. It can be a temporary problem (bad downloading becasuse of Filesonic errors in the past few days) or my uploaded rar files are really damaged? And if they damaged how I can know which ones?

I don't think you can, the only option i can find is to limit free users to download 400mb or 1gb.

 

Could it be because of the uploading problems the past few days? If they're really damaged because of the uploads it's very likely Hish can't tell which one is damaged. You need to check the file size to see if it's the same as the one you've uploaded. That's from my past experiences.

 

Or maybe he got my rar corrupted becasuse when he downloaded the downloading process wasn't successful...
Anyway there is a problem with downloads (I've seen people complaining). For example now I want to check one of my rar file and I started to download it. I'm a Premium user and my download speed is between 60-120 KB/s... imagine a free user's speed... (maybe that's why the number of downloads drops over the past few days)

 

After working hours & hours today i have zero sale so far,

May be it will come soon bcoz I'm not stop working so kinda strange if i don't get any.

That's what it is...you make your files >400MB, and set the limit for free users to 400, this way only premium users can download.

Filesonic has major file corruption problem. The problem is not during the "upload". The files get corrupted afterwards. I've had files downloaded at least a few dozen times over the past week, and today I checked and many were "missing".
Hish promised to bring back the "corrupted files" notice, but never did...Too many people bitching about their files getting corrupted. This way, they "think" their files are okay, but I'd rather know so I can replace them.
Filesonic, can you guys please bring back the "corrupted" files report?

Can you PM me the details. If your user has any links. Rar could have been corrupted during upload but it's very rare it would be from download unless his ram is deffective (I think not)

Also deleting the file and re-uploading would solve the issue.

 

Right now IT is working on solving the bug that creates these corrupted files. It is our first priority along with improving upload/download speeds.

Meanwhile I finished my test. I downloaded one of my own rar which was corrupted when he was download it. The result interesting, because for me ( apart from slow download speed) the download was successful. For me that rar wasn't corrupted... So I think the problem was there when he downloaded.

But apart from this what somniantis said above is very scary. Maybe there are lots of corrupted files in my FS folders?
Somniantis is right. There should be an opportunity to see which files are corrupted, because we need to replace them...

Yes, I wasn't talking about rar archive corruption I was talking about the files being completely deleted due to server corruption, and I had no clue, never got a notice. In a certain case,I had a season of 12 episodes, 10 were "missing" and I had no clue...
