I was thinking long term, I have 6 month old dormant files in Filesonic Ive never even posted anywhere and last week I had 3 sales off them, 2 was from Japan for the same file, crazy stuff but got to love that crawler and it all helps.

 

Some hosts offer 90 days for inactivity for files, but i realy need notice when files when be deleted. Something like on Rapidshare where you noticed via mail for files whitch be deleted soon.

 

At the moment we do not have plans to increase 30-day time, however we will implement notification feature. Also, we do grant premium memberships to successful partners - you need to contact support team for that ( I mean active partners who has and downloads and sales).

 

Notification feature is sufficient for free users. Also this will help free users to decide which one to share and discard non-useful files.

Wow! This must to be lot of files... Are not a secret how many files is this 7TB and what average file size is?

 

I only discuss these things with my active refferals . Plan on making 50 sales a week, i did it when i used a previous host and im sure i can do it using this one

 

I really can not emphasize how happy with the site I am.

Bah. I paid for mine. Oh well. I think a built in feature much like the website sales commission percentage for free premium membership would be a fantastic idea. Free premium for the month for anyone who gets 5 or 10+ sales for example.

Here's a few other suggestions as well:

-Switch to US currency. I know you're based in EU but over 1/2 of my sales are from the US and I think that they would be more comfortable purchasing premium subs if it was listed in their own currency.
-Higher max file size for non-premium members. 1.2GB is large but I have some files even larger than that. Boards ban/delete non-free links so I can't post those links and I really don't want to split them.
-Something I've never seen done by a filehost that I think would be amazing is a promotion option for websites. Let sites offer 5/10% discounts for a day/week/month at a time. Maybe have a sales trigger for how much and/or how long promo can be offered.
-Actively work with forums/imageboards to have your site allowed. I am currently paying one of my favorite boards a monthly fee to unban you... It's worth it for me because I make more than that from them, but still... there are some popular boards that have you banned and it would be great if there were fewer. Orom does this and it has been very effective.
-I used to use DepFiles and one of the things I loved was the desktop uploader program that they had. Mainly, I loved that it would integrate into the Windows context menu so that I could right-click a file and hit 'Upload to DepFiles' and it would queue it up and go just like that.

I have a ton of other ideas/suggestions as well but I'll leave you with that for now

i want to use this filehost.... talk to sborg team and try to get API upload for sborg. as i only upload to filehost that sborg have. FTP i dont like as i don't get link in end, with bbcode

As for premium memberships - anyone who has good stats (with both downloands and sales) can try to get free premiums.

As for your suggestions:

1. At the moment we do not have plans to switch to USD - I would say that honestly. As you know, we do payouts and calculations in USD. We have lots of partners/users from Europe also, that is why I am afraid for now we do not plan USD prices.

2. I do not remember popular hostings that have larger file size limitation really for free download. I am afraid in this case the only way is to split the files into several parts - what actually can bring more downloads and sales.

3. This kind of promo is a good suggestion, will discuss it here.

4. We do actively work with the boards and actually we were allowed at many forums in September and October. Please pm me what forums you mean and where you would like FP to be allowed. This information will be really helpful.

5. At the moment I can not promise such a tool however we will think about that.

We have not received similar requests thus it is not a priority now. We offer lots of ways for upload - the most convenient to my mind is FTP.

 

I was under the impression the € was shown to only those within the EU and the $ to those outside. However I learned from 2 members in the US this is not the case and wanted to know what currency the € was. Another said the conversion made it too expensive, I explained Oron also charged the same but you get better value with Filepost as prem is unrestricted. I think we need to give the € time, it works for Oron so it should for Filepost.

In the ACP there are coupons available and I thought this would be a great idea to sell only one year premiums. I contacted support and my idea was to offer 1 year coupons on my websites, but a one off coupon per user, and non allowed per renewal. Ok you lose in commission but as the majority of sales are one month only it would still be more profitable. However I was told if we use the coupon the sale is not credited to us or the rebills so that idea was knocked on the head.
But I agree a promotion to be used on our own verified sites to get the ball rolling might be worth a shot, but like everything there are selfish greedy $%£*s who would misuse it and advertise it on forums thus causing trouble.
